from the Blow it up Man dept. I decided to treat myself to an early birthday present and bought a synth I have always wanted. The Fender Rhodes Chroma Polaris... Summary: analogue, multitimbral, polyphonic MIDI synth with real VCOs and a full set of sliders, programmable, extremely flexible. This instrument will not be replacing my Casio CZ-1 as my lead synth but it will be employed in the same manner and provide a new palette of colors as well as some unique sounds I cannot get from the CZ-1. One of the cool features on this new machine is the ability of control every single parameter via Midi! The potential here is staggering and not very common on old analog synthesizers. My old Roland Juno 106 had this capability and I loved it. Voice architecture: 2 VCOs (square/pulse/pwm or saw) ring modulator LFO (called "sweep") w/ square or sine waveforms resonant LPF (mod by: kbd tracking, LFO, +/-EG, velocity) VCA (mod by: ASR, velocity) oscillator sync noiseMost of the instruments functions have dedicated sliders. This is a real performance machine! I can't wait to begin writing some new songs with this thing - I am pretty excited with my new powers!!!
